Hebrides News

The MV Hebrides was unable to dock at Lochmaddy this afternoon due to bad weather. North westerly winds gusting up to 60 knots at the pier made it too hazardous to berth.  The ferry returned to Skye around 6pm.

Tonight’s ferry runs from North Uist to Skye and onward to Tarbert have been cancelled as a result.

With the ship being out of position there will be no early morning sailing out of Tarbert.

Neither will the special 7.30am sailing from Lochmaddy operate.

Cal Mac has announced a revised timetable for Friday with two return runs planned between Skye and Lochmaddy, weather permitting.

Amended sailings for after 4.30pm for Tarbert and Lochmaddy on Friday are now cancelled due to high winds.
