Hebrides News

MV Hebrides has resumed service after being stuck in port with fouled propellers.

A number of sailings were cancelled on the Skye triangle route when the problem emerged yesterday morning.

Divers removed foreign objects from her propellers at Lochmaddy pier permitting the vessel to proceed to sea.

The ferry sailed into force eight conditions and rough seas, on an amended timetable with a trip to Skye and back to North Uist.

Weather permitting, she will carry out another run tonight, loading a backlog of traffic at Lochmaddy for Uig and then heading from the mainland at 9pm for Harris.

Due to weather conditions all sailings remain liable to delay or cancellation at short notice.
