Labour’s parliamentary candidate, Alasdair Morrison said: “I would urge our politicians to put island interests before their blind loyalty to their party.

“This government is the most centralising government Scotland has ever seen.

“They obsess about powers for Edinburgh but when it comes to acting on behalf of our islands, they are impotent and found wanting.

Labour accuses SNP of “damning silence” over ferry fares

10 January 2015

Mr Morrison said their “silence” was a "damning indictment" of their “attitude to the people they are meant to represent.”

In addition, he wants them to “join me in the campaign to reduce the cost of inter-island ferry travel. Surely we can now get the SNP to reduce inter-island fares and build on the success of previous investment".
