Engine repairs means the MV Clansman has been taken out of service today (Thurs).

 

Today’s sailing from Oban to Castlebay and Lochboisdale has been cancelled as a result.

 

Neither will there be any morning ferry service from either port to the mainland on Friday.

 

Cal Mac says the vessel requires an essential repair.  She is due to be back in service tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a gale warning risks disrupting the MV Lord of the Isles on her timetable to South Uist and Barra tomorrow. The ferry is on amber alert and may be cancelled, says Cal Mac.

 

A warning of a severe gale for the area has been issued by the Met Office.

 

Force 9 conditions are expected with gusts over 60mph.
