A southerly force eight gale has led to several ferry crossings being cancelled.
The MV Isle of Lewis is stormbound in Castlebay with her run to Oban put off.
No ferries operated between Barra and Eriskay today. Hopes for an later afternoon sailing came to nothing after the weather showed no sign of easing.

The MV Loch Portain is operating on the Sound of Harris crossing. Afternoon sailings are liable to disruption.
