Ferry cancellations and disruptions

30 January 2015

Bad weather and rough seas are affecting Western Isles ferries.

All Stornoway / Ullapool sailings are cancelled today after a northerly swell down the Minch prevented the relief Stornoway ferry, MV Isle of Arran from venturing out of port.

The MV Lord of the Isles sailed ahead of incoming bad weather at lunchtime today. However, she will not go into Loch Boisdale but will tie up in Castlebay.

Weather permitting the Barra to Eriskay sailing at 5.20pm will be delayed so Uist-bound passengers can make the connection.

All Saturday’s Lochboisdale - Mallaig sailings are cancelled.

All sailings on the Uig triangle route are on amber alert today and tomorrow.  The MV Clansman is operating an amended timetable and will sail from Lochmaddy at 5pm to Tarbert first and then Uig. She is due to  leave Skye at 9pm for Tarbert.

Saturday’s 7.15am departure is cancelled. Weather permitting, the route’s normal timetable will resume with the 2.10pm departure to Lochmaddy.
