Ferry operator CalMac is warning people to think about their journey before travelling.

 

Operations director, Drew Collier, said: “Yet again this winter we are in a position where the weather is likely to bring extensive disruption to service across the Clyde and Hebrides routes over the course of the week.

 

"People should look at the forecast carefully before travelling and check their arrangements if they plan to travel with us."

 

Sailings on the Uig triangle are on amber alert on Thursday. The MV Hebridean Isles service to Tarbert departed early from Uig. All sailings cancelled on Friday

 

The MV Hebrides cancelled her outbound voyage to Barra and South Uist. Her Friday morning inbound service to Oban is cancelled. The Lord of the Isles' Friday sailing is on amber.

 

The Stornoway - Ullapool ferry will be stuck in Ullapool after Thursday night's freight run. Sailings are due to restart mid-morning on Saturday.

 

Later sailings on the Eriskay route were cancelled on Thursday afternoon.

 

Both inter-island ferries are on amber alert for Friday.

 

Saturday's Lochboisdale - Mallaig service is liable to disruption.
