Ferry sailings for South Uist have been cancelled for Friday and Saturday due to bad weather.
The MV Lord of the Isles made it to Castlebay but did not attempt to continue to Lochboisdale due to strong gusts, rough seas and swell.
The vessel will remain at Barra until conditions ease.
She departed Oban over seven hours earlier than scheduled to get across before the weather deteriorated too much.
