Hebrides News

Bad weather is affecting island ferry services today.

The MV Clansman’s timetable on the triangle route is on amber alert all day.  With a heavier swell on her route compared to just a few miles further up or down the coast, her morning’s return sailing on the Skye to Tarbert route was cancelled. She is currently running four hours late on the Lochmaddy run.

Rough seas prevented a morning crossing on the Sound of Harris route. The ferry will attempt an afternoon sailing.

There will be no Lochboisdale-Mallaig service today.

The next ferry from Oban to South Uist is not due to arrive until late on Thursday night due to bad weather and cancellations.  The MV Hebrides is expected to head for Castlebay only on Wednesday.
