Stormy seas whipped up by 60-70 mile winds risk impacting on island ferry services on Wednesday, particularly in the first half of the day.

The Barra - Oban ferry is likely to be disrupted. As a contingency to allow trucks of foodstuffs and supplies get to the island the MV Isle of Lewis will delay her Oban departure on Tuesday by two hours.

The Lochboisdale timetable is cancelled. Instead, the MV Lord of the Isles will operate on Tuesday with a 11.30am departure from South Uist.

Bad weather on Monday afternoon also caused disruptions.

The last timetable sailing on the Sound of Barra was cancelled.

The Lochmaddy crossing was also put off with the vessel remaining in Skye overnight The Hebrides will leave Uig at 5.15am in the morning.
