A heavy northerly swell forecast to affect the Minch on Wednesday is liable to disruption MV Loch Seaforth on her passenger-only sailings between Stornoway and Ullapool.

Both mainland-bound trips and the lunchtime return service are on amber alert.

Meanwhile, the temporary ferry service operating between Stornoway and Skye has been cancelled for Wednesday morning.

There will be a review at mid-day with regard to the 5pm sailing from Stornoway to Skye and the 9pm sailing from Skye.

On Tuesday evening, the MV Hebrides service to Tarbert and Lochmaddy is on amber alert due to the adverse weather forecast of high winds and risks being disruption or cancelled at short notice.

The Tuesday overnight freight service by the MV Clipper Ranger between Stornoway and Uig has been cancelled.
