The Barra ferry, MV Isle of Lewis, is out of action with a “technical issue.”

The vessel is stuck in Oban and could not sail to Castlebay today.

The ferry will not operate on Monday forcing the Lord of the Isles to call into Castlebay on her voyages between Lochboisdale and Oban.

South Uist passengers will be delayed in arriving at Oban.

But as the ship will make a speedy turnaround they will reach the islands earlier than timetabled.

The Lord of the Isles departs the mainland over four hours earlier than normal.
