Ferry disruption for South Uist and Barra will continue into next week.

Lochboisdale vessel MV Lord of the Isles has been taken off her station to cover the Tiree route after their ship vessel suffered serious damage while trying to berth in a heavy swell.

No one was injured during the incident it is understood.

The vessel is presently undergoing repairs on the Clyde.

In the Loti’s absence, the Lochboisdale - Mallaig / Oban service is cancelled with traffic diverted via Barra or Lochmaddy - Skye.

The Sound of Barra ferry and the Castlebay vessel are operating amended timings to accommodate a link to Oban.
