Day of disruption for ferries 31/1/13
Wild seas caused by a severe gale resulted in many Western Isles ferries being cancelled
or disrupted today.
Stornoway ferry MV Clansman was storm-bound in Ullapool until 5.35pm.
Some sailings between Skye, Harris and North Uist were also cancelled as were inter-island
ferries.
As the 60mph winds have eased for a period, the MV Lord of the Isles is undertaking
a special sailing to Barra - missing out the South Uist leg - with a overnight return
run to Oban in the early hours of Saturday.
