Rough seas threaten disruption to New Year Eve ferries
30 December 2014
Wednesday morning sailings of the Stornoway ferry are liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to adverse weather.
Winds are expected to remain strong into the evening but are forecast to change in direction so the ferry is presently expected to undertake her afternoon and evening runs between Stornoway and Ullapool on Hogmanay.
The MV Lord of the Isles cancelled her South Uist / Mallaig timetable today (Tues) to make the mainland before the worst of the weather set in.
Her Hogmanay service out of the islands has been cancelled as a result.
