High winds in the southern Minch may disrupt ferry services from Barra and South Uist on Thursday.
Morning sailings are expected to depart on time but the direction of the depression coincides with sea links to the islands.
Cal Mac warned of the possibility of a delay to the MV Isle of Lewis' departure from Oban.
Strong north easterly gusts also means a "heightened possibility" of disruption berthing in Castlebay.
