Adverse weather has resulted in disruptions on the South Uist and Barra ferry service.

The MV Clansman is due to carry passengers and vehicles heading to the isles for Christmas.

However, the last outward voyage may be disrupted because of adverse weather, Cal Mac warns.

The inbound ferry, MV Lord of the Isles was running late earlier.

The 6am sailing from Lochboisdale was cancelled as earlier delays and “technical issues” meant the MV Lord of the Isles was not following her scheduled timetable.

She carried out a special run to Barra last night and headed direct to Oban this morning.
