High winds over the next two days may cause ferry disruptions.

Gale force winds are forecast for the Western Isles.

A heavy swell is also predicted off Barra.

Cal Mac said there is risk of disruption on Sunday to ferries serving Castlebay, Lochmaddy, Tarbert.

The Mallaig - Lochboisdale service will also be affected on Sunday. The MV Lord of the Isles is bringing her return sailing forward. The vessel plans a quick turnaround to depart the mainland port at 11.15am. The morning service from Lochboisdale will operate as normal.

Skippers will wait upon updated forecasts before assessing any impact on Monday’s sailings.
