Hebrides News

The MV Isle of Lewis has been drafted in to operate the Lochmaddy-Skye run after the relief vessel was suddenly withdrawn.

The Isle of Arran was needed to cover the South Uist-Barra service while the Lord of the Isles undergoes work to change her propellers.

In addition, bad weather has disrupted sailings on the Minch routes today.

An amended timetable is being operated by the MV Hebridean Isles on the Tarbert-Skye run due to weather cancellations yesterday. The vessel is on the route while the MV Hebrides covers the Ardrossan service on the Clyde.

Sea conditions meant there was no second morning sailing on the Sound of Barra route. The cancellation prevented the mail van from arriving on Barra in time for today's postal delivery.

The MV Clansman is running late on her run from Lochboisdale and Castlebay to Oban.
