The Sound of Harris ferry service has been cancelled until 4.30pm.
The skipper of the MV Loch Portain is ill and a relief captain has been called in.
Morning and early afternoon sailings did not operate.
The vessel will carry out two delayed return trips on a revised timetable between Berneray and Leverburgh.
