The South Uist ferry was delayed on Friday due to high winds gusting 40 knots.

The MV Lord of the Isles held back her morning sailing by four and a half hours until weather conditions improved.

Passengers faced further disruption on the mainland route to Mallaig with a stretch of the A830 closed due to a landslip.
