Passengers on the last arrival of the MV Loch Seaforth into Stornoway on Wednesday said it was a bumpy voyage.

Conditions were deteriorating on the mainland bound lunchtime crossing.

Tonight’s evening run is cancelled.

A brief lull in the weather between today’s gale and the onset of Storm Caroline will allow the ferry to undertake a freight run out of Ullapool in the early hours on Thursday.

She is due to arrive in Stornoway as wind speeds strengthen again where she will tie up until Saturday morning at least.

Cal Mac said there will be a review on Friday for sailings on Saturday.
