The Tuesday morning ferry service from South Uist has been cancelled because of a technical problem with the vessel.

The MV Lord of the Isles is stuck at Lochboisdale harbour.

The issue prevented her from sailing today.

Cal Mac said the 7am outbound run to  Mallaig will not operate. has been cancelled. Passengers are advised to head north and catch the Lochmaddy ferry to Skye instead.

If the issue is not fixed the 5.30pm sailing between Mallaig to Lochboisdale is likely to be disrupted. An alternative is for South Uist-bound travellers to catch the lunchtime Oban to Barra ferry to make a connecting sailing across the Sound of Barra to Eriskay.
