Sailings of the MV Loch Seaforth are likely to be badly cancelled or disrupted on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday due to bad weather.

Present forecasts indicate a high northerly swell on the Stornoway - Ullapool route particularly towards the end of the week as Storm Caroline whips up big waves.

Cal Mac asked travellers to consider bringing their journey plans forward.

Other ferry services are also likely to be affected.

Meanwhile the MV Isle of Lewis departs Castlebay ahead of bad weather at the earlier time of  4.45am on Wednesday.
