Many ferries have stopped sailings today as a north westerly gale affects the islands.

The Stornoway ferry has cancelled her afternoon and evening sailings.

The MV Loch Seaforth’s freight run tonight will not operate.

Lochboisdale and Castlebay ferries are tied up all day.

The MV Loch Alainn had hoped to attempt a sailing between Barra and Eriskay but conditions are too severe.

The Berneray - Leverburgh ferry is operating but her sailings may be cancelled at short notice.  

The MV Hebrides is running between Skye to Lochmaddy and Tarbert sailings though the service is on yellow alert.
