Hebrides News

All Western Isles ferry services are cancelled on Wednesday morning due to wild weather and heavy seas.

The Stornoway ferry is stuck in Ullapool until after lunchtime. She tied up after carrying freight to the mainland overnight. The vessel will load lorries, cars and passengers from 1pm and sail after the last vehicle is onboard. There will be no sailing out of Stornoway including tonight’s freight service.

Lochmaddy and Tarbert ferries are also cancelled. The MV Hebrides will operate an amended timetable on Thursday, departing Harris at 5am and Lochmaddy at 7.30am.
