The South Uist and Barra ferry may be disrupted or even cancelled due to rough weather on Wednesday.
Cal Mac said the service between the islands and Oban is on amber alert.
High winds and a heavy swell are expected on the route.
The morning run out of Locboisdale which calls in at Castlebay before heading to the mainland may be affected.
