Travellers planning to use ferry services for South Uist and Barra on Tuesday are advised to consider making their trip a day early to avoid incoming bad weather.

Rough seas and high winds are presently forecast for Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Cal Mac said the Castlebay - Oban ferry service risks being be cancelled at short notice while the Sound of Barra route is also liable to disruption.

Rough weather may also affect the Lochboisdale - Mallaig route.
