Hebrides News

The MV Hebrides is temporarily replacing the MV Clansman on the Barra and South Uist routes.

The Clansman is undertaking drydock in Birkenhead near Liverpool.

The Hebrides moved up from her relief duties on the Clyde runs to cover the Oban sailings to the Western Isles.

In her absence, the MV Hebridean Isles and the MV Isle of Arran are covering the Skye - North Uist - Harris sailings.

Meanwhile, the ex-Stornoway ferry, MV Isle of Lewis is in Greenock for her annual refit. It includes some modifications to prepare the vessel for the new direct Barra-Oban sailings.

Cal Mac's drydocking schedule was thrown into disarray when extra work was required on the MV Isle of Mull.

Plans were rejigged to enable Cal Mac's Western Isles fleet to receive their annual overhaul.
