Ferry services face disruption or cancellation on Tuesday as a strong winds whip up rough seas in the Minch.

A force eight gale forecast will affect timetables.

The Castlebay ferry is cancelled.

No service will operate for Lochboisdale for the second day running.

The Stornoway crossing is liable to disruption or cancellation.

The Skye triangle route is on yellow alert. If the MV Hebrides sails she will carry out an amended timetable to clear the backlog of traffic from Monday’s cancellations.

Weather permitting, the vessel plans a 5.30am departure from Tarbert to Lochmaddy before heading to Uig.
