The first two sailings across the Sound of Barra have been put off and the rest of
the day’s services are on amber alert.
The MV Lord of the Isles will not run to Barra and South Uist today. The vessel did
not venture into Lochboidale last night but sailed from Castlebay overnight in a
bid to beat the weather.
The MV Hebrides has been delayed on her run out of Harris and her timetable may be
disrupted later.
The Stornoway ferry departed on time but will be stuck in Ullapool until 5.35pm this
evening. If the weather worsens she may not return tonight.
