Strong winds and a heavy swell are affecting ferry services for Uist and Barra.

Afternoon sailings on the Sound of Barra route are cancelled.

The last run on the route today will be at an amended departure time of 1.45pm from Ardmhòr with an immediate turnaround at Eriskay at 2.30pm.

Both ferries serving Castlebay and Lochboisdale are cancelled today.

On Saturday, the Loti will delay her departure from Lochboisdale until 9.15am. The return voyage from Mallaig is due to set off at the normal time.
