Storm force winds and rough seas are affecting Western Isles ferry services.

The Sunday evening sailing of the MV Loch Seaforth will depart 30 minutes earlier than timetabled. The vessel leaves Ullapool at 6pm. Last check-in is 5.15pm.

The ship has cancelled her overnight freight run while tomorrow's run from Stornoway may be delayed.

Lochmaddy ferry sailings on Sunday evening are cancelled as are the Monday morning runs for Tarbert.

The last sailing on the Sound of Harris is at an amended lunchtime timing when the ferry will leave around an hour earlier than scheduled. The late afternoon run is cancelled. Its Monday morning timetable risks disruption.

Due to the worsening conditions, there will be no afternoon crossings on the Sound of Barra. The MV Loch Alainn departed Eriskay an hour ahead of schedule for her last trip of the day.

All sailings between Castlebay and Oban are cancelled on Sunday due to heavy weather. Monday may also see disruption to the MV Isle of Lewis's service.

The MV Lord of the Isles departed Mallaig for South Uist nearly seven hours earlier than usual in order to beat the incoming gale. Monday's runs are disrupted.
