A westerly severe gale building up over Uist and Barra is causing ferry disruption today (Monday).

The first timetabled return sailing on the Sound of Barra is cancelled with a review in the morning over the schedule for the rest of the day.

The Castlebay - Oban service will not operate due to very rough seas on the route.

South Uist’s revised ferry arrangements were supposed to be fully implemented today. However, no sailings will now take place due to the adverse weather.
