Strong winds and rough seas are affecting ferry services for Saturday.

The Sound of Harris vessel did not venture out in the morning. Her afternoon run is to operate but is liable to disruption.

The Loch Bhrusda's sailings to and from Eriskay were cancelled.

All Lochboisdale-Mallaig sailings are also cancelled.

There will be a midnight special sailing from Oban to Lochboisdale at tonight. To avoid heavy seas in area, the ferry will sail a longer but sheltered route via the Small Isles, arriving in Lochboisdale around 6am Sunday morning. She will then pick up the scheduled inbound timetable with a 7am departure from Lochboisdale to Castlebay and Oban.

After being stuck in Ullapool since departing Stornoway on Thursday night, the MV Loch Seaforth made a run across the Minch at lunchtime. Weather - and swell - permitting, her skipper plans to depart at 3.30pm for a return trip.

The MV Hebridean Isles' timetable was cancelled.

On the Lochmaddy route, the MV Isle of Arran did not sail in the morning and is operating an amended schedule for the afternoon.
