Bad weather prevented Sound of Harris ferry from operating her first run this morning. A lull in the conditions allowed the MV Loch Portain to venture out at 10am for a return trip between Berneray and Leverburgh on what will be the only sailing of the day due to very low tides.

The MV Clansman was delayed sailing from Uist and Barra due to strong winds. An improvement in conditions reduced the disruption. The ferry is expected to dock at Oban around 2.10pm.

50mph gusts were recorded in Uist in the early morning.
