The Stornoway ferry has cancelled sailings today due to a severe swell and gale force winds on her route, causing high waves to bang into the side of the vessel.

The MV Loch Seaforth is stuck in Ullapool until late afternoon at least. If the weather improves as forecast, she will sail at 5.30pm.

The overnight freight ferry between Stornoway and Ullapool faces disruption.

MV Lord of the Isles departed Lochboisdale earlier than usual. The vessel sail to Oban instead and will head back after unloading.

The MV Hebrides is catching up on a backlog of traffic delayed by yesterday’s cancellations affecting sailings for Harris and North Uist.
