Most Cal Mac sailings for the Western Isles today were canceled in rough seas and
high waves.
The late running Stornoway - Ullapool service was one of only two ferries at sea.
After her first return sailing to Ullapool, the MV Loch Seaforth remained in Stornoway
as the peak of the storm passed. She was held up for an hour longer than usual during
the squally conditions and set off at 3pm with the wind on her stern.
Meanwhile, the inter-island Eriskay ferry, MV Loch Alainn, squeezed in a run when
the weather eased at teatime.
