Mr Buchanan, 40, was a popular school bus driver who also worked in his family’s transport business.

It appears Mr Buchanan was pinned under the truck which had overturned on its side.

It is understood he was collecting bundles of salmon farm nets for onward delivery to a washing station.

The trapped man was spotted by a local resident who raised the alarm.

Police, ambulance and three fire crews rushed to the scene but nothing could be done to save him.

Mr Buchanan was pronounced dead at the scene, said police.
