The sum of £730 has been raised for the Leanne Fund by the Hebridean Independent Living and Learning Service (Hills).

Hills provides support to people who have significant barriers to employment, such as learning difficulties, mental health problems, confidence issues and a lack of work experience.

It consists of two groups: Grow 2 Work and the Failte Café which worked together and held a fundraising light lunch and raffle.

Chrisetta Mitchell from the Leanne Fund said they were "delighted to receive this incredible donation from the HILLS team following their recent light lunch and raffle."

She added: "Huge thanks to Jen, John and all the trainees and volunteers who worked so hard to make the event such a success. We were privileged to go along and be part of the day.

"All the money raised will be used to provide special treats/experiences and a range of support services including complementary therapies, counselling and sport and fitness equipment for individuals affected by Cystic Fibrosis throughout the Highlands and Western Isles."

The Grow 2 Work Course is jointly run by the CnES and Lews Castle College and is based in the college nursery.

The Failte Café is run by the CnES and provides a supportive environment where adults with additional support needs gain experience of working in a café setting.
