The Stornoway ferry, MV Isle of Lewis, hopes to clear a backlog of traffic with an extra sailing today, following a series of cancellations due to rough seas.
The ferry was weatherbound since Sunday lunchtime, missing three return trips to Skye.
She ventured out this morning though was scheduled to make only a single voyage.
However, she will squeeze in a second sailing.
The ferry will leave Skye at 10.40am and head back out of Stornoway at 2.20 pm. Her afternoon departure time from Skye is running about an hour late so is set to leave around 5.40pm
Meanwhile, this morning’s sailing from Castlebay to Oban has been cancelled as the ferry was stuck on the mainland due to yesterday’s adverse conditions.
