Expensive dinner 30/8/14
A motorist who was running late for a meal was caught speeding while rushing to the restuarant, Stornoway Sheriff Court has heard.
Stephen Macdonald, 29, of 46 Back, Lewis, was fined £120 and received three penalty points after leaded guilty to driving at 64mph within the 40 mph limit at Newmarket in May this year.
The court heard he was behind schedule and had driven out of a 60mph zone but failed to slow down enough before encountering the speed check.
