Help and advice is available from qualified careers advisers in Stornoway when the exams results come out early next month.

The careers office on Frances Street is gearing up for calls from people who do not get the results they hoped for.

More than 142,000 pupils in Scotland will receive their National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher results on Tuesday.

A helpline on 0808 100 8000 has also been set up by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to offer support for young people and their parents.

Help is available from qualified careers advisers who have unique access to information on UCAS course vacancies at UK colleges and universities, confirmation and clearing, advice about modern or foundation apprenticeships, employment or volunteering.
