Learners in Eilean Siar have performed consistently well in SQA examinations, according to the data released today.

An increase in the number of presentations and passes at SQA Higher level has been welcomed by Education staff.

2016 results show that, at Higher level, there were 963 presentations and an increase in the percentage of A-C passes to 81.20%. This represents 782 Higher passes.

Overall, at National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, data shows a slight decrease in the number of presentations and percentage passes.

Across the authority, there were 3,216 presentations with an 86.94% pass rate.

Figures do not include attainment in vocational courses, where the most recent data indicates that Eilean Siar is the highest performing authority in Scotland.
