Competition for youngsters’ best eco ideas              19/2/14

Young Scots between five and 18 years of age are being urged to come up with ideas to help their local environment.

A group prize of £1000 and other prizes including HP tablets; a backstage tour of The Hydro in Glasgow; tickets to the 2014 Irn Bru Carnival; electric car teen drive event at Knockhill will go to the winning entries in the competition by Scotland’s Environment Website project.

Youngsters can make a simple drawing or painting or something more complex such as a video, website, photographic essay or newspaper article to show what changes in their local community could make a difference to the environment. They are also asked about what role they can you play in making it happen.

Entering the competition is an effective contribution towards the delivery of the Curriculum for Excellence and may help schools achieve Eco Schools accreditation.
