Ferry passengers face travel chaos as a relief timetable on the Skye triangle is ditched.

The annual refit for MV Hebrides has been delayed unil the end of the month so the vessel will remain on her Lochmaddy and Tarbert runs.

The two vessel timetable planned for her absence has been ditched.

The last minute disruption is proving expensive for passengers who reserved bus and train connections based on the now jettisoned relief schedule.

Many are forced to rebook transport links at additional cost and are not receiving refunds on the original reservations.

Cal Mac said the problems are a consequence of the MV Clansman being retained in drydock for longer than expected.
