The South Uist ferry, MV Lord of the Isles, returns to service today after an extended delay at her refit.

The ship was due to leave the Mersey before the end of November.

The vessel arrived in Oban in the morning and will load traffic for Lochboisdale.

Until the end of March, Mallaig is the destination port on Wednesdays and weekends with Oban being served twice weekly.
