Highlands, Islands and Moray MSP, David Stewart, has tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament highlighting the Scotland is falling behind England and Wales in its approach to elements of road safety by not setting drug driving limits.

David Stewart said: “ I am convinced that if we were to follow the example of England and Wales with regards drug driving limits we would be affording our police officers the means to detect many more drivers who use our roads whilst unfit through drugs."

Parliament would debate the issue if there is sufficient support for his motion.
