The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) must take immediate action to address island concerns over theory test delays says the SNP general election candidate, Angus MacNeil.

Islanders face waiting over 14 weeks to theory driving test.

Angus MacNeil said: “I understand that at least six people had to travel to Ullapool recently to take the test, this is a ludicrous situation which the DVSA must address quickly.

“I also understand that there are no trailer tests dates available in Stornoway and people are expected to travel to Inverness as it is the nearest test centre. This is financially onerous and damaging to businesses.

“I fail to understand why the DVSA continues to harm the economy in our islands and I have contacted them again to ask that they take immediate action to sort this problem.”
