A woman who used a car while unfit to drive through drugs and did not have insurance has banned from driving.

Elizabeth Ann Macneil of Tong, Lewis, previously pleaded guilty to the offence when her case called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

She also admitted a further two charges of driving without insurance on different dates.

The court previously heard police received a tip-off the 28-year-old was driving a BMW car around Stornoway.

Police spotted her driving into the carpark at 7pm on 15 September 2015.

Procurator fiscal Karen Smith had said Macneil appeared to have slurred speech. A breath test returned negative but a drug analysis showed the presence of drug substances.

Sheriff David Sutherland disqualified Macneil from driving for four years.

He also imposed fines totalling  £700.
